Broomstick Barn is the name of the house my husband and I are building up in the Berkshires. We chose the name for several reasons – most of them laughable. First, I was born the day before Halloween, so I have a penchant for brooms. Second, I find sweeping to be a very zen-like activity. And third, my husband and I collect brooms. Our house has been in the works for about four years, and at least on paper, it has changed shape and style several times. Now, we’re finally getting real.
